So Boris has gone ahead with his ban on petrol and diesel cars from 2030 (and PHEVs from 2035).
We did respond to the original consultation to point out that we believed a ban would be both counter productive and unnecessary. I can’t imagine we were the only ones. I guess Boris was swayed by the arguments of his advisors.
Our response to the consultation is linked below, it sets out why we disagree with the Government. 2030 is even earlier so the issues of vehicle and electricity supply are exacerbated.
The ban seems to be playing well with the media, and I guess that’s what Boris was really interested in, because he doesn’t seem to care what UK business thinks?
